With great sadness, we are hit with a creator of many games such as Dig Dug, Ridge Racer and Tekken. But his most famous and enjoyable game made in 1980 was Pac Man was. Masaya Nakamura has passed away.
Arcades were buzzing with gamers waiting in line like to play,
Then it hit… Pac Man Fever.
So much merchandise was created it was crazy like a fever. Even ice cream and cereal. A kiddie cartoon show was even created. if you have kids under age six, look it up and let them watch. Some like it, some do not.
Masaya Nakamura, Thank You for your great creativeness. As the TMNT would say “Pizza Time!”
Arnold Palmer, a legend with such class. You might be too young to know Arnold, but he was one of the world’s top golfers. His poise so graceful made many think golf was easy. He was a champion of his time and even had a video game on Sega Genesis called Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf. This game was truly aimed at golf players. No casuals here, unless you are learning.
If you’re out eating, be sure to order up an ‘Arnold Palmer’ in respects to the legend.
Another great legend of wrestling has passed away, Mr. Fuji. A mighty wrestler in the beginning, then more in and out of the ring action. As ringside manager he was very entertaining and pushy. Great excited for all of watching.
Sad news, Muhammad Ali, Heavyweight Champion of the World Passes away at age 74. He was a living legend. Not only a great and talented boxer, he also believed in and served civil rights. A Living Legend.
In 1992, SEGA released ‘Muhammad Ali Boxing’ for the SEGA GENESIS. The game was not that great, but because of his name being on it, many investigated.
Muhummad also had a few famous, encouraging quotes. One of his famous quotes: “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see.”
Sad, sad, sad news, Animator Makiko Futaki has passed away. She fell ill for an unknown reason and succumbed to whatever the illness was. Her work is VERY recognizable, especially in a dying world of hand drawn animation at a rate and quality 80’s U.S. kids are used to.
Some of Makiko Futaki movies she animated are:
Kiki’s Delivery Service
My Neighbor Totoro
And to our surprise, she actually animated Here Come the Littles, no wonder it stood out amongst the 80’s Saturday Morning Cartoon line up. And one more anime had a game based on it,
Space Adventure Cobra later had a Sega CD game based off of it by The Space Adventure.
Makiko Futaki has many other works you should check out.
“Fly Makiko Futaki, fly. Thank You and Rest in Peace.”
Sad news, audio designer Jory Plum has pass away from a motorcycle accident. Knew him not we did. Felt him oh yes. His mastery on Double Fine’s Broken Age and Telltale’s The Walking Dead sound, immaculate.
He’s worked on many other games, but we mentioned those two as that is how we will remember him.
It’s sad, sad, sad news. Dave Mirra has passed away. He was the ‘Tony Hawk of BMX’. Whether you liked the video game or not, you loved watching him do his awesome tricks on his bike.
It’s truly sad to hear this news. We’re wordless. If you have a problem that is eating you and you can’t shake it, tell a friend you trust that can sit, listen and help to relieve the stress no matter what it is.
One good friend has more value than 50 so and so friends.
Please talk it out. It does help.
Rest in Peace Dave.
